Teenage Murder Trial

Today marks the start of the high profile murder trial of teenager Carly Samuels, who was shot dead on the Jasmine Allen estate earlier this year.

The accused facing prosecution are prolific gang member Tito Morientes and the father of Carly’s child, Dwayne Fox; both known associates of the Creekside Boys who operate out of the estate.

Carly was shot dead last month whilst talking with friends on the estate, though she is not believed to have been involved in gang activity herself. It is alleged that Morientes and Fox had plotted revenge on Carly’s boyfriend Marlon Reed in a drive-by style attack - and that Carly Samuels was not the intended target.

Carly’s mother is relieved to see the case finally come to court and is desperate to see justice gained for her daughter. She commented, ‘Carly’s death was a tragic waste of life and coming to terms with our loss has been extremely hard. Carly’s friends and family just want to lay her soul to rest so we can begin to rebuild our lives.’
