Yob violence has yet again broken out on the infamous Jasmine Allen in Sun Hill. Amid unfounded rumours of police brutality, the mobile police unit (MPU), set up to cope with escalating unrest on the estate, has been attacked. It is understood that two police constables under siege in the unit had to be rescued by colleagues.
The Metropolitan police’s elite Tactical Support Group (TSG) have also been called in to assist local officers in ferocious scenes involving weapons and petrol bombs. Residents are said to be sickened by the actions of gang members who seek to cause chaos and disrupt the lives of those in the area.
The new outburst of violence follows the recent murder of 16-year-old Carly Samuels, teenage mother of one, whose murder trial is currently underway in Canley Crown court. And in a dramatic statement at the court a key witness, Joel Pierce, claimed that police had made him sign a false declaration implicating the defendants, Tito Morientes and Dwayne Fox. Defence barrister, Sunhil Davdra, told the court that defendant Fox ‘conveniently fitted the bill’ as murderer of his ex-girlfriend, Carly. Dwayne is the father of Carly’s baby daughter, Brooke, who is now being raised by her grandmother. Leanne Samuels has previously pleaded for witnesses to come forward regarding her daughter Carly’s murder and for justice to prevail.
