PC Emma Keane who was tragically killed in one of last week’s bomb blasts that rocked London was laid to rest today. The emotional formal police ceremony was held in a Canley Catholic Church. Friends, family and colleagues of Emma have paid tribute to her bravery, her integrity and also her friendship.
On the day she was murdered, Emma had already escaped death twice, after being caught in the immediate vicinity of two previous explosions but avoided injury. Shortly afterwards, straight back on the beat, Emma spotted a nearby office building needed to be evacuated as a fire had broken out.
Whilst at the scene she was alerted to another bomb threat. Fully aware of the danger she faced, Emma put aside her personal safety for the sake of all the workers in and around Industry House: she led the staff to safety just moments before a package, that had been delivered by a courier, exploded, killing her.
Sgt Stone was with Emma only minutes before – on hearing the deafening blast, he raced to the scene. At Emma’s side, Stone desperately tried to revive his colleague and friend with CPR – sadly Emma was already dead.
Stop press:
The hunt for PC Emma Keane’s killer could be over.
News just in from our reporter at Sun Hill: A man, believed to have been involved in the investigation from the very beginning, has just been arrested under the prevention of terrorism act.
It is understood the white, balding, man in his 30s has been behind the recent spate of explosions that have killed and seriously injured scores of people.
Another bomb went off only hours ago in a school yard in Canley – the bomber was arrested has he detonated it using a mobile phone. More on this story to follow…
